Relax, Renew & Refresh at Colonial Gardens Bed & Breakfast
Built in 1877 as the private home of prominent businessman, Thomas Smith, the inn has an abundance of class and character and yet the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Spacious private suites boast tall ceilings, beautiful moulding, fireplaces and whirlpools. New owners are busy updating amenities and furnishings. Full, hot breakfast is delivered to your door each morning, and the coffee and fresh baked goodies are always avaiable. Location couldn't be better as it is walking distance to all historic Downtown Sturgeon Bay has to offer.
Sturgeon Bay is the perfect spot from which to base your Door County visit and the Colonial Gardens Bed & Breakfast is a stroll away from some of the best of the best in town.
The historic downtown district is just steps from our front door and offers terrific shopping and dining experiences. We have four museums in town and four lovely waterfront parks. Potawatomi State Park is just a short five mile drive or bike ride away.
Our working waterfront boasts miles of walkways. Sleek mega-yachts, built right here in town, are contrasted by the muscular lake ore carriers – some as long as 1,000 feet. Sport fishing boats, sailboats, pontoons, excursion vessels, kayaks and canoes all ply the waters of Sturgeon Bay.
After a full day exploring town or the whole Door peninsula, return to relax and unwind with a nap or a soak in your private double whirlpool tub. Plan tomorrow’s fun and reconnect with your companion.
Very exciting things are happening at the Inn! Colonial Gardens will be closing at Christmas for renovations, including making a lovely common space and another luxury suite. We will be reopening the beginning of February as
